A freshly resprayed and mechanically sound example of the much-loved Series IIA, finished in its classic Marine Blue with Limestone roof and wheels. This right-hand drive Land Rover has a fascinating history, having been supplied initially new to Africa before later being imported to Italy, where it currently resides in Pavia. The odometer shows 41,569 miles. Due to be imported into the UK in October 2025, the vehicle will be registered with the DVLA and a new licence plate fitted.

Mechanical & Drivetrain

  • Aspirated 2.25-litre four-cylinder diesel engine

  • Four-speed manual gearbox with selectable creeper gears and four-wheel drive

  • Equipped with Fairey Free Wheeling Hubs

  • An additional heating circuit was installed for improved comfort

  • The engine bay appears largely original and well-kept, with everything in good order.

Body & Chassis

  • Series IIA body with later-style mudguards housing headlights

  • Series III radiator grille

  • Chassis and bulkhead in good condition, with evidence of past repairs

  • Sturdy roof rack with rear ladder and tow hook fitted

  • OEM steel rims with tyres suitable for road use

  • Panels align well, with only minor dents consistent with age and use

Paint & Exterior

  • Painted in Marine Blue with Limestone roof and wheels

  • Complete respray carried out in July 2025

  • The finish is shiny and presentable, with a slightly glossier appearancein some areas.

  • Galvanised trim painted body colour, in line with later Defender styling

Interior

  • Purpose-built dashboard

  • Aftermarket headlining and rubber mats for added usability

  • ‘Deluxe’ seat covers in good condition relative to age.

This 1968 Land Rover Series IIA combines classic rugged character with tasteful updates and an appealing ownership history. With a solid mechanical base, a fresh coat of paint, and only 41,569 miles on the odometer, it is equally well-suited for regular use as a practical classic or as a collectable addition to any Land Rover enthusiast’s stable.
